CallAnswer247 ("we", "us", "our") provides a call answering and virtual receptionist service to businesses in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It's written to comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
When you sign up for CallAnswer247, we collect your business name, your name, email address, and phone number. We also collect billing information indirectly — your card and payment details are handled entirely by our payment processor, PayFast; we never see or store your card details ourselves.
Once your service is active, we process information related to the calls we answer on your behalf, including caller phone numbers, call recordings and transcripts, messages taken, and appointment details booked through your connected calendar. This call data belongs to you as our customer and exists to let us deliver the service you've signed up for — greeting callers, taking messages, transferring calls, and booking appointments.
We share only what's necessary to run the service, with these categories of third parties:
We do not sell your personal information or your callers' information to anyone.
We retain your account information for as long as your subscription is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet accounting and legal requirements. Call recordings and transcripts are retained only as long as needed to provide the service and to allow you to review past calls, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Under POPIA, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to correct inaccurate information, and to request that we delete it (subject to legal or contractual retention requirements). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect the personal information we hold. No system is completely immune to risk, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data secure.
Our website uses only the minimal technical storage needed to run the signup process (such as remembering your selected pricing plan while you complete checkout). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post any changes on this page with an updated date at the top.
If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise your rights under POPIA, contact us at privacy@callanswer247.com. You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator if you believe your information has been mishandled.
